Background:

How would you describe your personality in 5 words or less?

Analytical, Compassionate, Curious, Trustworthy, Strategic

Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from and what’s your story?

I was born in Southern California but spent most of my life in Tucson, AZ, where I earned my marketing degree at the University of Arizona. Over the next decade, my husband and I moved to five different cities—including one island—before returning to Arizona in 2019. We’re thrilled to be back in the Southwest.

I began my career on the publisher side, where I built a strong foundation in both traditional and digital media. From there, I moved into B2B-focused agencies offering full-service marketing solutions. With a passion for interpreting trends and making data-driven decisions, I’m your go-to data nerd! I thrive on working with people and proactively bringing solutions—sometimes before a problem is even on the radar.

How did you get your first name?

I am named after Bob Newhart’s wife, Emily,  from The Bob Newhart Show.

What can we find you doing outside of the office? What are your passions?

When I'm not working, you’ll find me at the gym, dining out, relaxing at home with my husband and dogs, or planning my next adventure. I’m passionate about travel and love experiencing new cultures, cuisines, and history. My husband and I aim to see the world, taking one big trip to Europe each year to bring us closer to that goal.

I'm especially fascinated by history, particularly the British royals! If you have a question about the English monarchy from the 1500s to the 1700s (because who doesn’t?), chances are I know the answer—or, if not, I’ll dive straight into a Google search, usually disappearing down a rabbit hole for the next hour!

My Vision Board

My board shares my vision of a balanced, fulfilling life. Each image reflects something meaningful to me: Travel showcases my love for exploring new places and cultures, with dreams of wandering through historic European streets. Balance is symbolized by time spent with my family and making time for. Self-Care is all about quiet moments of relaxation like reading, while Health includes dedication to strength and wellness. Learn & Grow represents my commitment to lifelong learning, personal, and professional development, a journey of curiosity that keeps me engaged and inspired.

Fun:

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

Martha Stewart! I admire the empire she built and I could also learn how to keep my garden alive.

What are your plans for this holiday/weekend?

I just got back from a trip to Portugal and Spain and so I plan on relaxing and decompressing this weekend!

If you were reincarnated as an animal/drink/ice cream flavor, what would it be?

As much as I dislike birds, I would come back as a bird so I can fly off to anywhere I want and see the world from different angles.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now where would you go and what would you do?

I would travel to Vienna and go to the Christmas Markets.

You just won a million dollars, what is the most irresponsible purchase you’re going to make?

Probably a ridicoulusly expensive  handbag!

What’s your latest streaming video binge?

I watched Dune Part 1 & Part 2 on my long-haul flight last week and I’m obsessed! I love the sand worms!

What’s your favorite YouTube video and why?

Every now and then I come HERE to just look at it.

Business:

What are you most looking forward to by working at StringCan?

I look forward to being a part of this collaborative, supportive, and incredibly smart team!

What will clients enjoy most about working with you?

Clients will appreciate my knack for organization and communication. I aim to anticipate my client's needs and provide them with what they need before they know they need it!

How do you plan on making a difference for StringCan and for our clients?

I plan to add value wherever opportunities arise. StringCan already has an incredibly strong team, and I hope to complement that with my positivity and enthusiasm. I've often been described as a ‘serial optimist’—I’m known for always having a smile on my face, and I hope that energy shines through to both StringCan and our clients.

What do results mean to you?

To me, results mean achieving goals on time and surprising and delighting everyone involved.

What is your proudest accomplishment and why?

My biggest accomplishment was leading a key findings presentation for a client on a product naming project alongside a colleague. We conducted extensive research and built a robust dataset with recommendations, and the client was thoroughly impressed. They even said that we knew their business better than some of their own executives! It was an incredible compliment and a testament to the hard work and dedication we put into the project—something I'm very proud of.

Work Habits & Productivity

2. Effortless
BY GREG MCKEOWN
Speaking of actions becoming more effortless, this is another book of McKeown’s that topped our 2022 reading list. Adding onto the powerful guidance around essentialism, this read delivers “proven strategies for making the most important activities the easiest ones,” like mapping out the minimum number of steps, finding the courage to “be rubbish” and more.
